What is the Adventure Course?

The Adventure Course is an obstacle course with variable difficulties. It utilizes a wide variety of obstacles and challenges to strengthen players’ bodies and develop focus and fundamental athleticism.  The Adventure Course is designed around a series of obstacles and challenges that utilize natural movements like climbing, lifting, crawling, swinging, balancing, carrying, throwing, etc. The player advances through the course by selecting the appropriate difficulty level for each type of obstacle or challenge encountered. The purpose of the variable difficulty is to provide players with a way to continually improve, like taking baby steps, while avoiding injury, “failure frustration”, or boredom.

How does it work?

The Adventure Course presents players with a variety of graded obstacles and challenges that, when sequenced together, exercise the body and mind in the most natural and comprehensive way.  Sensors monitor hundreds of players at once, keeping tally of course times, selected routes, scores, metabolic assessments, and statistical comparisons with other players. Along the way, Course Rangers provide safety and spotting, helpful techniques, and encouragement, and even challenge or chase players for additional fun and excitement.  Upon completion of each game, players are presented with a “game score”. Typically, the objective is to get the most points possible during the 20- to 30-minute games. For motivation, players are recognized and rewarded for getting higher scores.

Why do we need the Adventure Course?

More than ever, people are looking for alternative methods of exercise. Many are unsatisfied with the conventional choices offered by health clubs, while others simply want more fun and excitement designed into their recreational activities. Many people are trying to rediscover their inner child.  Meanwhile, reality TV shows like Ninja Warrior have become very popular – generating interest in non-traditional training methods. In addition, global terrorism and natural catastrophes in recent years have left many wondering, “How could I physically and mentally prepare myself or my loved ones for an event like that?”  The Adventure Course is the answer, providing a fun and practical way to prepare for adventure activities or survival situations.

Is it safe?

Yes. Before playing, participants are required to complete simple Adventure Course safety classes. During the game, Course Rangers are present to assist players and prevent injuries.

How much does it cost?

$4 to $14 per day, depending on the skill level of the player.

How long does it take to play?

Less than 30 minutes. And the high-traffic design of the Adventure Course means no waiting to play, even during busier hours.
